The OnceWas Report for 2022

What a year 2022 has been for OnceWas. As we draw closer to the end of 2022 we want to share our business highlights & efforts to sustain a responsible future.

First and foremost, our brand wouldn't be possible without your continued support. We thank you for all your continued love and support, 2023 brings many new initiatives and breathtaking designs that we cannot wait to share with you.

What a joy it was to be able to host our very first VIP event in the heart of our new Headquarters and meet OnceWas VIPs from around Australia. We had Belinda, OnceWas Director + Head Designer hold an exclusive styling session and walked customers through the entire SS22 collection, Riviera. What a special moment it was to be able to connect with you and share our passion for what we do.

From being asked to take part in the quintessentially Melbourne Dairy Hall runway at Melbourne Fashion Week in October to having our collections featured in national fashion media including Marie Claire, RUSSH and Australian Women’s Weekly over the year, we’re so thankful for our loyal customers without whom none of this would be possible.

A OnceWas SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

As a business we continuously aim to improve our sustainable practices while also delivering the best quality garments, making small changes in this aspect of our business is only just the beginning. We are a small team of 5 women, managing everything in-house from design, customer service, order dispatch, marketing, production and sales.
Producing limited quantities of high-quality garments that last season after season has been our main focus in reducing waste and lessening our impact on the environment. Although we manufacture offshore, everything is designed in Melbourne and our business utilises & supports many predominantly female-owned & operated small Australian businesses.

PACKAGING

2022 saw the change of packaging to HERO PACKAGING. Further to their business of donating 20% of profits to charities such as Ozharvest, Children's Ground and Starlight Children's Foundation, they provide us with zero-waste, home-compostable mailers & stickers.
Furthermore, we now use biodegradable garment bags which protect garments during shipping & reuse recycling shipping cartons.

iCHANGE

We are incredibly proud to have started a partnership with i=Change. This initiative allows us to donate a portion of every sale made online to organisations that focus on the well-being of women and girls across the world + protect our earth's future. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of others and help create a better future for all. With 100% transparency and you can track exactly how much we have raised for each cause and you can even see your donation coming through in real time here.

With all this in mind, we’re so excited to see what 2023 has in store for OnceWas and can’t wait to continue to share this journey with you. We wish you and your families a happy, safe and restful holiday, see you in the new year!

Thank you again for a wonderful year, we wouldn’t be here without you!
