Embrace Versatility: How to Wear OnceWas Winter Collection on Your Summer Holiday.

During my recent holiday in Thailand, I was frequently stopped by people curious about where my clothing was from. When I told them it was OnceWas, they were surprised to discover it was our winter collection after checking our website. 
One of the core principles of my design process is versatility. Fashion shouldn’t be confined to a single season. When I design, I imagine how each piece can be worn in various climates and settings. Our winter collection, for example, isn’t just for the cold months. With a little creativity, these pieces can be your perfect travel companions to warmer destinations.
Our fabrics are chosen not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their practicality. Lightweight and low-maintenance, they travel exceptionally well. They resist creasing, allowing you to pack efficiently and arrive at your destination looking fresh and stylish.
Today, I'm thrilled to show you how our winter collection can effortlessly transform into the perfect summer holiday wardrobe. Here are some tips on how to style these pieces for a warmer climate.

Winter Dresses Styled Three Ways

I styled my Imperial Cotton Silk Maxi Dress in Oriental Print in three different ways in Thailand:

  • Breezy Daytime Look: Styled with lighter accessories and footwear, this dress transitioned beautifully into summer. Pair it with sandals and a sunhat for a relaxed, airy vibe.
  • Evening Sophistication: Unbutton the dress from the waistline down and style it with shorts and heels. This creates a sophisticated and stylish evening look.
  • Beach Cover-Up: Wear the dress open over your bikinis. It makes for a perfect, stylish cover-up on the beach.

Statement Pants

Our statement pants are incredibly versatile and comfortable:
  • Daytime Comfort: Pair them with your bikini tops, singlets, or bandeaus and sandals for a relaxed and airy daytime look.
  • Elevated Evening Look: Transition them to evening by styling with strappy heels and a chic top for an effortlessly sophisticated ensemble.

Versatile Tops

Our tops, designed to be lightweight yet warm, can double as perfect evening wear on cooler summer nights:
  • Elegant Layering: Throw one over a summer dress for an added touch of elegance.
  • Beach Cover-Up: Use our shirts unbuttoned over bikinis as the perfect, stylish cover-up.

My final tip is to roll your clothes to maximise space and minimise creases. Our fabrics are designed to withstand the rigours of travel, but rolling them can further help maintain their look!
