The Fashion Insider for a Pregnancy & Beyond Wardrobe đź–¤

We discuss key styling notes that will provide the unwavering foundations of any pregnancy & beyond wardrobe 🖤

Fashion Videographer Rozanna Chrapot (Mother of 2-year-old Romeo & currently pregnant) recently visited our studio with Stylist Emelia Morris (Mother of 4-month-old Ziggy) discussing their styling journey during these body transitions.

Rozanna sat down with us after the shoot to discuss her pregnancy & postpartum styling tips.

"It has been interesting to learn how to adjust my style, less in terms of the overall vibe but rather the proportions. This might seem counterintuitive, but I honestly felt like a walking tent wearing oversized clothes.
The best way to approach maternity dressing is to evaluate your wardrobe to see what will comfortably adapt to your body; from here add in a few pieces. I was honestly surprised at how many OnceWas designs I could wear well into my pregnancy that I already owned!
Pregnant or not, I am conscious of my purchases and only investing in pieces I love & in designers that I want to support. Especially during these body changes, I didn’t want disposable pregnancy clothes and wanted to ensure I could wear them while breastfeeding and beyond.
Personally, I found postpartum dressing harder than maternity. There was no bump to hide my changed body shape & adjustment to motherhood (sleep deprivation is no joke, no amount of concealer helps!) It helped that my OnceWas designs made me feel good about myself. No matter what shape your body, I believe that any clothing that makes you feel good is important! Having clothing to throw on that made me feel beautiful and happy made a world of a difference to my mental health.
My key takeaway is that becoming a mother doesn’t mean that you need to dress a certain way. Don't need to stick to the “maternity” section and have fun with your style. Most importantly, don’t get caught up on being too harsh on yourself, you are doing an amazing job Mumma!
Here are some of Emelia and my favourite pieces from Free Spirit, OnceWas's Autumn collection that will be perfect for your pregnancy & beyond wardrobe.
"This dress is so comfortable and feminine. Worn with heels or sneakers for a causal look, I felt so beautiful wearing this dress. I adore the sleeve shape and patterns which took attention away from other parts of my body".

"Not only is this dress perfect for breastfeeding, I loved that I could also wear is open as a coat or bikini cover up!  I am size 1 (Aus 8) in OnceWas and found I could wear this my entire pregnancy. In the last month I did need to undo buttons to fit my belly but still was able to wear my dresses as coats." - Rozanna

"The buttons on the Getty Dress make it the perfect breastfeeding outfit. I also adored the flowing fabric & I love how the neckline can be folded in to create a v-neck!" - Emelia

"Oversized outerwear is always needed, but having something a little bit luxe instantly elevated my mood & look! I love that I can dress my Novella Bomber up or wear it with gym clothes. It's a great way to polish off an outfit & add texture."
