Holiday Packing By Denis Todorovic

We were lucky to have fashion & celebrity stylist, Denis Todorovic, drop by to help us pack for our Summer holidays. With his years of experience working with the likes of British Vogue & Instyle & as the former Fashion Editor at Cosmopolitan AU, he was kind enough to share some fantastic tips on how to select the most versatile & essential travel companions.

Its that time of year, the weather is warming up, we have time off work and we are ready to press pause and head to the ocean. Summer holidays are a thing of beauty and in Australia, we are spoiled for choice. Whether you’re heading down to the coast or jumping on a quick flight to Bali, you’re going to need the ultimate Holiday Wardrobe and OnceWas have you sorted this season.

"I’m going to talk you through the essentials you need in your suitcase these holidays and how to get the most wear out of them while you’re away. The key to packing for a summer holiday is mileage, you want to get the most out of your looks and not overpack, to leave room for all the shopping you’ll likely do."

The best thing about a co-ord is that it's going to deliver you with three different outfit options. Naturally, you can wear them as a set, for a chic, tonal matching look. Team the duo with a black heel for cocktails for a beach. Next up, you’re going to take the Pollen Linen Shorts and team it back with a white linen t-shirt for a casual day of shopping, worn with a black leather sandal. When it comes to the Monarch Chiffon Blouse, this is what you’re going to throw in your bag to pop over your bikini when you need to hit the beach bar for a drink. Wear it nonchalantly with a black bikini bottom and chuck on a big hat!

A breezy wide-legged palazzo pant is the perfect holiday staple, so look no further than the Nectar Wide Leg Chiffon Pant. Team these with a pair of high wedges, run a curling wand through your hair, add a soft lick of bronzer and you’re ready for a night of dancing. These trousers are so light and breezy and the perfect fabric for tropical locations!

Let’s be honest, when you’re on holidays you want to maximise the number of outfits you’re getting per piece of clothing. Enter the Pollen Shirred Waist Skirt which you can wear as a skirt with a tee by day and then as a dress at night with a pair of wedges. I love a multi-functional piece of clothing and this one is an absolute winner!

For the times you need to dress yourself up but still want to keep comfortable, the Nectar Shirred Bodice Jumpsuit is your hero. This style is perfect as it's just dressy enough, whilst also relaxed. The off-the-shoulder detail is bang on-trend for this season and the print means all you need to do is add a pop lip and your look is complete. Team it with a pair of heels for night, or with a pair of sandals/sneakers for day drinks with the girls. What’s great about this piece is that it will take you from Summer to Autumn, just add a denim jacket.

My tips for packing are always the following three things.
 1. Try on your holiday outfits before you pack, take photos of them and use these as a bank of options for whilst you’re away. You can scroll through your outfit
folder and choose accordingly depending on what you have that day.
 2. When you start packing, roll everything, you’ll fit more into the case and avoid any kind of creasing. Luckily the OnceWas collection is made from fabulous crease-free fabrics so you won’t have to worry about any steaming when you reach your destination.
3. Lastly pack only three pairs of shoes, because you won’t wear any more than that. All you need is a pair of heels – black or nude to go with everything. A pair of white leather sneakers for all the walking you’ll do and a leather sandal to dress- up your beach look.
You are now ready for Summer Holidays, so ready set to go, see you at the pool!
