We are thrilled to present to you our new Spring collection, ‘Havana.’ Launching August 2021, these classic and timeless designs in a range of tropical prints and colours, conjure up images of balmy island destinations and carefree memories of sipping cocktails by the sea.
Inspired by the eclectic vibrance of the Cuban city of Havana, the collection is a melting pot of bohemian embroideries, paisley and tropical prints, and features a range of Latin-inspired proportions and silhouettes. With pops of golden amber tones, offset against the ever-popular chambray and indigo blues, the colour palette of Havana is reminiscent of gleaming sunrises and cool summer nights.
Focussing on natural fibres such as cotton silks, linen blends, tencel and speciality viscose, the lightweight materials help to achieve an effortlessly chic look while also being sustainably friendly. Featuring exclusive prints and unique cut out embroideries, each item in the collection has been designed with spring and summer occasions in mind.
Shot on location at a unique and colourful property in Melbourne, which completed the fantasy of being transported across the globe.
“When I saw the collection come to life I knew it was something special with some of the most beautiful shapes and prints I had seen Bel design. We have always wanted to do a location shoot and after coming out of unpredictable lockdowns we knew it was the time to do it. The location could not have been more perfect for this collection with every space feeling like you were in a different country, it had us all dreaming of our next holiday escape” said our Head of Wholesale, Linda Cerny.
Our Director and Head Designer Belinda Glynn, is confident that this collection's timeless silhouettes and unique handwriting will ensure that each outfit will remain in style for seasons to come. Stand-out favourites from Havana include the statement-making Castro Blazer and Arlo Pant, combining classic tailoring with a subtle tropical print for an unexpected edge.
“I think we are all growing tired of our WFH leisurewear uniforms, so I wanted to offer our customers something exciting & unique to make them feel like they were on a Summer holiday even if travel is limited. My focus was to design feminine, flowing silhouettes in beautiful fabrics with elevated details which combine comfort with effortless style & a sense of fun” said Director and Head Designer of OnceWas, Belinda Glynn.
The beautifully tropical ‘Havana’ collection will be available for pre-order from our eboutique or stockists nationwide. OW x
